An NHS nurse reported missing by his wife was found hanged in woodland, an inquest has heard.
James Kingsbury, 57, was described as a dedicated NHS nurse and volunteer biker for the blood service.
He was reported missing earlier this year and was last seen alive on October 5.
His body was found on November 14, 25 miles from his home in a wooded area in Glynneath, south Wales.
Better known as Jim, the family of Mr Kingsbury, from Brecon, and originally from the Ystradgynlais area, previously described his disappearance as “totally out of character”.
Opening the inquest into Mr Kingsbury’s death at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court on Thursday, November 26 Coroner’s Officer Emma Mathias said: “The circumstances are Mr Kingsbury was reported missing by his wife.
“On November 14 he was found in a woodland area. Police confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.”
Ms Mathias also explained Dyfed-Powys Police and South Wales Police were involved in the search for Mr Kingsbury, who resided at Ynyswen in Penycae.
A provisional cause of death was given as hanging.
A full inquest is set to take place at a later date.
